GUST Field Trip

A few days ago, I decided to take my senior students on a school field trip to GUST university where I attended grad school. I took my top favorite students on this trip not because of academic purposes but more of wanting them to create memories.

As a high school teacher, I always hear students complain about school, exams and teachers; I’d feel bad if they leave high school with nothing but excruciating experience of what’s supposed to be a prodigious-remarkable phase in their lives. I know it will be hard for them to understand it now but years later they will look back and say “God, I miss high school”. Since there’s few months left till graduation, I will make sure that my favorite students will enjoy their time; they deserve it. They’re my top priority right now and they will have my full attention. I love them dearly and I will definitely miss them when they graduate.

There will be another post regarding my TOP STUDENTS of 2015-2016. Who do you think is my NUMBER ONE STUDENT?. You will find out soon.

NOTE: I would like to thank these students for helping me out in this field trip because I couldn’t have done it without them:

  1. Mohammad Babajan.
  2. Abdulaziz Al-Foudari.
  3. Ali Al-shekri.
  4. Hassan Dashti.
  5. Abdulredha AL-Muhanna.
  6. Ali Murad.

I know better now; I love better now

I’ve postponed this post many times over the past few weeks because I wasn’t in the right mindset to write something. I was completely shutoff from blogging. I was busy enjoying life; straying away from negative aspects I’ve faced over the past years. I wanted to be present in my life; not a just a mere soulless wanderer

Last week, my friend and I had a long conversation about life in general and what we’ve accomplished back in 2015. It’s funny, when he asked me about what I did last year, my reply was nothing but negativity. It took me a moment until I realized that I was completely overlooking the good things I’ve done in my life over the past year. I overlooked the fact that I got my masters degree, met new friends, created this blog and applied for a PhD. I overlooked them and I did not know why. That’s when it hit me; I was not fully present in my life. I only noticed the negative things and the negative people and neglected the joyous moments in my life. I did not appreciate what God presented me over the past year. I had to change internally and with all honesty I am changed. Life’s too good to ignore it; I’m blessed and I acknowledge it. I know better now; I love better now.

So, I’ve decided that my new years resolution is this: Appreciative whatever life’s throws at me because there is always light at the end of tunnel. Be present in the moment because that’s when God is giving you his blessings. I am a lot happier than before and that’s enough for me.
